John Lowe 2005 Award of Excellence Recipient

John Lowe currently serves as the Executive Director of Technology and Auxiliary Services for Clinton City Schools where he oversees the technology department, facilities and the maintenance department. He served as director of
bands at Sampson Middle School 1994-1995 and at Clinton High School from 1995-2008. He served on the board of SEDBA for many years and has assisted with both the middle and high school district auditions for over 25 years. John is
a graduate of East Carolina University, where he studied trombone with George Broussard and received a Bachelor of Music degree and a Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology from East Carolina University. Mr. Lowe received his National Board Certification in Early Adolescence/Young Adulthood Music in the fall of 2004 and served as a National Board Assessor at the Pearson Virginia Beach Scoring Center for four years and also scored EDTPA submissions for several scoring seasons. He renewed National Board certification in 2014. He is also certified as a COSN Certified Educational Technology Leader. John is married to Vevlyn Lowe and has two sons. Both John and Vevlyn are members of First Methodist Church of Clinton, NC where they sing in the choir and perform in the handbell and instrumental ensembles.
